This past summer my church had a chicken barbeque. I had to work that day so I wasn’t able to help out. My little sister, who was ten at the time, and her friend went to talk to some of the girls holding signs along the road. After they were done talking they looked both ways then started to run across the street but my sister, Hannah, got hit by a car. They didn’t see it coming. She was taken to the hospital and ended up with only a concussion and bruises and scraps on her back. The car was going 30 or 40 miles per hour. So according to the doctors she should have been dead or at least been seriously injured. I ended up not finding out until a couple hours later. I got the call and was terrified beyond belief but after I heard what happened I was so thankful and relieved that she was ok. I never really had experienced a miracle before and I thought they were real but not in today’s world. You read all the stories in the bible about God healing this person or bringing this person back from the dead but until you really experience a miracle for yourself it is hard to truly believe in them. This experience changed my whole perspective. I know now that God is capable of anything. It is easy to say you believe in something but once you’ve experienced it it becomes so much more real. Hannah was a miracle and God used her to glorify himself. God showed me that day that He is in control. To think that my sister could have died that day and only came out with a concussion and bruises still astounds me. It reminds me just how awesome God is and how He can use anything or any situation to glorify himself.

  1. One of the hardest things in life is learning to LET GO! What an awesome lesson to be learned! He is in control of every situation – praise the Lord!

  2. Christina it amazes me too how awesome God is and how we limit him to this thing that we think of him…and put him in a box. I praise God for the miracle that he did on your sister. Praise God.
